The George Galloway Show, Talk Sport Radio
In this two part extract of the show, George Galloway quizzes me on the voracity of my report The Myth of Racist Kids (although he hadn't read it). I survived the interrogation despite Galloway's puzzlingly conspiratorial references to the "libertarian" Manifesto Club (and your point is George?). He appeared to wrong-foot me on a BBC Panorama (which I hadn't seen) the contents of which, according to Galloway, blew away my claim that British society is less racist and more tolerant than ever before. However, despite the obvious weaknesses of citing a television 'undercover' documentary as proof of a society dripping in racism, I notice the programme itself has been the subject of considerable criticism from Bristol Southmead residents, teachers, youth workers all furious at its distorted portrayal of their area. Several felt the film had been "set-up" and had targetted streets known to house teenagers frequently at the centre of a range of anti-social behaviour. See the article in This is Bristol here.
